Make a Difference Rescue Inc. (MADR) is a 501c3 non-profit, no-kill, foster-based canine rescue founded in 2010. We do not have a building where you can meet adoptable dogs, but rather hold adoption events weekly at local pet stores, as well as participate in other community adoption events. We assist in pulling abused, abandoned and neglected animals from rural area shelters with high kill rates. We are always in need of foster homes, adoptive homes, volunteers, cash and in-kind donations.
Our rescue was formed for the purpose of rescuing abused and abandoned animals, to provide the care, comfort and treatment they need to prepare them for new lives in loving adoptive homes.
COME MEET OUR PETS
Our adoption events are held every Sunday at the Troy Petco on Coolidge near 15 Mile Road from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. Since we are a foster-based rescue, we cannot guarantee the attendance of every dog each week. Please call (248) 703-0670, or email MakeADifferenceRescue@gmail.com to inquire about a specific dog(s).
OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
We do require that potential adopters complete an application in-person, and a face-to-face interview with one of our representatives. We conduct home inspections so all potential adopters must be located within 1 hour of our Metro Detroit location.
Fully fenced yards are required for our bully breed dogs and all puppy adoptions.
All adult dogs have a one-time adoption donation of $275. Puppies have a one-time adoption donation of $300.
If adopted dogs are over 6 months of age, spaying and neutering is performed by the rescue and at the rescue’s cost.
We serve the Metro Detroit area including Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. We are unable to accommodate out-of-state adoptions.
